Co-Regulation is for the parent or caregiver steadying a child through a hard moment. It is open now and sold separately. A course on performance under sustained pressure is on the way.

12Years

In real-world use across Canada and the United States

The 3A Toolkit has been used for twelve years in schools, one-on-one therapy sessions, and group clinics.

The three steps

Each step helps a person notice what is happening, meet it with more choice, and take a small action that supports regulation.

Awareness

Notice what is happening. What are you thinking, and what are you feeling in your body? Awareness helps you catch stress early.

Assign a Label

Name the feeling, for example I feel stressed or I feel anxious. Naming it begins the process of regulating.

Action

Use body calming and helpful thinking strategies that fit the moment, so stress becomes more manageable.

Courses for every stage

One method, offered as editions for different ages and settings. Start with one, or bring the whole family together.

What people are saying

Early feedback from clinicians who have used the 3A Toolkit.

Overall, it is fantastic. The simplicity of the layout makes it feel really accessible, it flows beautifully from one step to the next, and the videos are excellent. A fabulous creation.
Dr. Robin Coombes, Ontario
I like it a lot, and I would pay for it. It is easy to follow and orient yourself, with no dead ends. The videos are all good and the timing is reasonable, and the activities are well done. So impressive.
Dr. Isabelle Vallieres, British Columbia
A very user-friendly and easy-to-follow toolkit. It’s grounded in research while remaining highly practical, making it accessible and engaging. The content is presented in a way that can effectively support a wide range of individuals across different ages, learning styles, and needs. There truly is something for everyone.

Frequently asked questions

What is the 3A Toolkit?

The 3A Toolkit is a practical way to work with stress and anxiety, taught as a guided online course. It is built on three steps: Awareness, Assign a Label, and Action.

Who is it for?

The Adult, Junior and Youth editions are all open now, as are Thriving with ADHD and Co-Regulation, which are separate courses.

How is the course delivered?

It is online. You read at your own pace, watch a short video for each part, and reflect in your own words. It works well on a phone.

Is the 3A Toolkit therapy?

No. It provides education and self-help tools and does not replace care from a qualified professional.

How do I sign in?

With your mobile number. We text you a six digit code, so there is no password to remember and no app to install.

What is the Family bundle?

One family code that unlocks the Adult, Junior, and Youth editions for up to 10 people in a household, so everyone shares the same language for stress.

Where are my notes saved?

Your written reflections stay on your own device. They are not sent to a server.

The research behind it

Created by a therapist and researcher

The 3A Toolkit was created by Dr. Meg Kapil, an educational psychologist and therapist in Victoria, BC. It grew out of her doctoral research on stress, mental health, and self-regulated learning.
