Who it is for

Teens and young adults. It teaches exactly the same three steps as the Adult edition, in the same language, so if a parent or an older sibling is doing the Adult course you are working from the same map.

One worry tool will not work every time. Different kinds of stress need different kinds of help.

Nothing here assumes anything is wrong with you. Stress is a normal, useful human response that sometimes turns its volume up higher than the situation needs.

The three steps

Three steps, same as every edition. Short enough to remember when you are stressed, which is the only time they matter.

AAwareness

Notice what is going on in your body, your thoughts, and around you, before deciding what it means.

AAssign a label

Name it. Putting a word to a feeling changes it, and gives you something to work with.

AAction

Pick a response that fits what is actually happening, instead of the one you always do.

The nine chapters

Each chapter has an audio explainer, flip cards for the key ideas, and one or two activities you fill in and keep.

  1. Understanding StressWhat stress is, what it is for, and why it turns up so loud
  2. Your FoundationSleep, food, movement and people. The base under everything else
  3. The 3A ToolkitAwareness, Assign a label, Action
  4. Body RegulationWhat to do when your body is doing too much
  5. Thinking RegulationThe story you tell about a situation, and how to change it
  6. RelationshipsOther people, and what you pick up from them
  7. The DebriefGoing back over something that went badly, usefully
  8. Approaching ChallengesGetting toward the thing you have been avoiding
  9. Planning AheadHaving a plan before you need one

What is inside

Audio on every chapter

Ten recordings, including the introduction. Listen instead of read, or do both.

Eleven activities

Written into the course and saved on your device, not on a server.

Thirty flip cards

Key idea on the front, the detail on the back.

The full workbook

Nine chapters plus references, the Youth edition of the book.

Real examples

Test stress, presentations, friendships and the things that actually come up.

One licence covers your phone, tablet and computer.

Everything you write stays on your own device. Reflections, notes and answers are saved in your browser and are never sent to us. We cannot read them, and neither can anyone else.

Questions

How is this different from the Adult edition?

Same three steps, same language, different reader. Youth is written for teens and young adults, has an audio explainer on every chapter, and uses examples from school and friendships rather than work.

Do my parents see what I write?

No. Everything you type is saved in your own browser on your own device. It is never sent to us, so there is nothing for anyone to look at.

How old is this for?

Roughly teens through young adults. For younger children the Junior edition is designed to be done with a grown-up.

Is this therapy?

No. It is educational and is not a substitute for counselling, therapy or medical care. If things feel like more than everyday stress, please talk to someone you trust.

How does billing work?

$49 a year, or included in the Family bundle for up to 10 people. Payment is handled by Paddle.com, the merchant of record.

Stress is not a sign something is wrong with you

It is a normal human response that sometimes gets louder than the situation calls for. This is about knowing what to do when it does.
